Economic issues in the middle east have been going through constant metamorphosis for a while. There have been attempts at growth in areas like Palestine, where there is an attempt at setting up a cell phone service provider, and Iraq, where leaders are trying to draw investors with promises of oil production. The oil issue is particularly key, because other middle eastern countries have been hiking up prices of oil in other countries consistently. Another huge issue of late in the middle east has been famine. The UN has given around two billion dollars to the middle east and Africa to help invest in agriculture. At the heart of the struggles in the middle east is Israel, which is blocking off cellular frequencies from Palestine, thereby stalling the cell phone service provider project there. Israels prime minister is also facing resignation due to corruption.
